Founded in Genoa in 1925, it purchased parcels of land in Portoferraio from Elba and in Bagnoli from Ilva to produce cement from the blast-furnace slag.

In 1929 the company was involved in the formation of the Società Anonima Consorzio Tirreno Produttori Cemento (Tyrrhenian Consortium of Cement Producers Joint-Stock Co.), with headquarters in Rome. In the same year it became part of S.I.A.C. - Società Incremento Applicazione Cemento - (Company for the Increased Application of Cement), with headquarters in Milan. In 1931 the company was taken over by Ilva.
