28 envelopes and registers (1914-1964)

Founded in Rome on 31 January 1914. The founding shareholders included: Società Italiana di Credito Provinciale (Italian Provincial Credit Co.), Società Tirrena di Elettricità, Società Generale per l'Illuminazione (General Lighting Co.), UNES. In 1916 the headquarters was moved to Naples, and with the increase in capital approved in 1922 UNES acquired control of the shareholding. In 1926 Società Lucana had the following subsidiaries: Idroelettrica Ligure Meridionale and Elettrica della Basilicata. In 1927 the company was quoted on the Milan stock exchange.

In 1963 it was taken over by Italsider Alti Forni e Acciaierie Riunite Ilva e Cornigliano, along with UNES, Società Generale Pugliese di Elettricità and Società Elettrica della Campania.
